Our Story
Matabane hardware was founded in 1982 by the late dynamic chairman Mr AL Matabane. The company was initially registered in 2000 as a close corporation; and recently changed to a Private Company; Matabane Group (PTY) LTD.
Mr Matabane started manufacturing cement bricks in his back yard with little resources. He was motivated by the need for local people to gain access to building material within their community. The hardware he produced contributed towards the construction of communities such as Ivory Park and Tembisa.
The company is now operated by Mr Matabane’ s daughter, Ms Kgomotso Matabane who is a firm believer in innovation.
